Lee put his free hand on Albus's shoulder. "I'll find her in a bit," he promised quietly. He wasn't sure if he should repeat himself. He wasn't sure if he could repeat it. So he sat there, quietly patting the young man's shoulder and trying to keep it together. He hated this. He hated fighting. He hated blood shed and fear, and he wanted his friends--his family safe, but he didn't know how to keep them safe. But he had to hold it together because that's who he was. Lee Jordan: rock. He could lose his shit later, but not now. "I need to ask a stupid question now." Lee's voice was thick but, he noticed, un-shaky. "You okay, kid?"
