Lee Jordan lost his flow. (commentated) wrote in fourteenshades, |
Lee couldn't break the habit of running in the middle of the night. He started doing it just after the war, and he kept doing it when he couldn't sleep or was waked by terrible dreams. Even after he started to heal, he would find himself awake at the same time every night, and he couldn't get to sleep again until he ran a few miles.
That's why he was on the road. It was an old dream that he thought was long gone. The image of Fred and Remus and Tonks. Lee pushed himself harder up a hill. He wanted his dog, he wanted a friend or someone beside him. He had them in this village, but he was still overwhelmed with the loneliness and sorrow that he'd known for years. He still missed them, even when he was talking to them. He pushed himself harder, running faster around a bend, and he stopped short.
"Oh shit!" His reflects were good enough to keep him from running into the girl standing there, but not quite good enough to keep him from stumbling a bit to the right. He managed to stay upright, though just barely. He looked at the girl and, finally seeing who was standing there in a hospital gown. Without her shoes. Looking in pain. "Katie?" Lee stepped forward. "It's Lee, Kit Kat. Are you okay?" He wanted to hug her, but he knew he looked different from what she remembered. She was still school-aged, and he didn't have his hair.
