WHO George Weasley, Fred Weasley, Gideon Prewett
WHERE & WHEN Brews & Bottoms, forward-dated to Sunday night.
WHAT Hanging out with the uncle they've never met!
RATING E for Epic.
Okay, so there were a lot of things George liked about the village, such as not living under a totalitarian dictator (coughVoldemortOrSkeetercough), and also things like getting to meet family that he would have never met otherwise. Another great part of being in the village ― "Helga's right, Fred, we really do need a real name for it" ― was the things he didn't have, like an empty spot beside him on the bench right now where instead there sat his brother Fred.
Bloody hell. And it was that sometimes, a bloody hell running this place, and trying to keep fires from sweeping out and consuming everything, both in terms of social drama ― "Whoops, looks like the kids got into the adult costumes again!" as Fred would say ― and actual fires which had apparently burned down half of the village a few weeks ago. Well, shit.
Still, getting to meet Uncle Gideon, and really meet him, in person, over some beers, was an epic thing to both of the twins. Fred in particular felt like this was an extra special sort of chance. He'd never have most of the opportunities that George would have back home, and so while sometimes he hated the fact that this village was necessary, even if he seemed resigned sometimes, he still wouldn't trade it in for anything, unless that 'anything' was the chance to go back and stop himself from dying.
And George thought things like that too, except then he always felt a stab of guilt, because then he wouldn't have Roxy.
'And the other Fred,' they'd both think, with similar grimaces fueled by different sentiments.
"Well," George said, pushing open the door to the pub, "I guess we're here a bit early?"
"Guess so," agreed Fred, pushing a lick of hair back from his face. "Can't we do something about the heat? We made it snow last summer, Georgie, I'm pretty sure we can turn it down or something."
George popped his eyes for a second sardonically as he took a seat in one of the booths. "The snow was an accident though, kind of. Once we get the water park up, it won't be as bad. Hey, what about a waterfall?"
"Coming down from the mountains, yeah." Fred thought about that for a second. "We also turned the village into an island paradise. We can make a waterfall."
"Both Roxy and Godric have a birthday coming up―"
"―within a few days of each other―"
"―she wants the water park and he'd like the waterfall―"
"―so why don't we just..."
"...combine them?"
"With the medieval setting―"
"―you know what we need?" George asked with a wide grin.
Fred's expression matched his twin's. "I know exactly what we need."
"It'll be hard to top this, Freddy."
"I know. But think of it."
"So what we'll do is―"
But then it sounded like the door opened, so George dropped off mid-sentence and poked his head up to take a look and see if it was Uncle Gideon who'd entered the pub. "Hey!"
