Draco & Astoria
WHO: Draco & Astoria
WHAT: Meeting for the first time in the village.
WHEN: Backdated to Tuesday, but after she met with Scorpius.
WHERE: His cottage
NOTE: Let's pretend he wrote and asked her over for tea/snacks.
RATING: PG
Draco did not run to Astoria the first night she arrived. By the time he opened his journal, it was clear Daphne and Cressida had things under control as far as easing Astoria into village life. Well, okay, no one was "eased" into the village, but Draco felt Astoria had people watching out for her before he even read a word from her quill. He could not lie; her words troubled him. He kept telling himself to keep an open mind, but how many relationships, romantic or otherwise, did he see destroyed over his course of a year in the village? What if he misjudged her? What if he saw what he wanted? What if he was just plain not the same person here that he was at home? His children said they were happy together, but what if they saw things through rose-coloured glasses? He already disappointed his children more than once (or so he believed) so maybe he truly wasn't what they thought...what anyone thought.
He hated feeling off kilter. He knew he needed to face Astoria sooner or later, but later was not an option. He didn't want to hurt her or their children in staying away too long. He needed to sort matters if only for their sakes.
He was becoming deeply unhappy again. He missed his mental healer back home. He missed Summer in the village. He wouldn't admit that out loud just yet so he mostly kept to himself since so many vanished only a few weeks ago. He saw to his family and closest friends, but, other than that, what was the point?
He picked up tea, biscuits, and fruit earlier in the day. Now he set them out in the living area as he waited on his future wife.
