"Getting dirty isn't so bad when you're bringing something beautiful into the world," said Victoire. "I think it all evens out. I'm glad you found a way to stop them from eating the roses. And you need something to keep your mind off of things."
Victoire nodded and began to push the pram. "The park is perfect. We can get groceries right before we come home, maybe? And I could use a few new books, too. I've read everything in the house twice now." No, there was no need to touch on subjects they knew was painful for the other. Today was supposed to be laid back and fun, and Victoire wasn't sure she would be able to hold it together if they began down that path.
"The play's good. The auditions had a much larger turnout than I expected," she said. "I have the cast list nearly finished. I just need to finalise a few more understudies. Hard to really be sure of anyone sticking around in a place like this, so I wanted to be prepared."
