Victoire sighed. She wasn't going to argue, and some sunshine might be nice, but it took quite a lot of effort to get herself to do even the most simple of things lately. Either way, she reluctantly slipped on her sandals, the sort she knew she could walk in without getting blisters. She still had a good ten or fifteen pounds to go before she was down to her pre-baby weight, so a little walk wouldn't hurt anything.
"Goats will eat anything, so you'd think he'd be able to keep them away from your roses if it's all the same to them," she said. She settled Kitty in her pram, tucked her in, made sure the sun wouldn't get in her eyes, and floated it out the door and down the steps to the street. The sun felt good on her skin, and she took a moment to breathe deeply. As much as she loathed this place and all it represented to her, she wasn't so single-minded that she couldn't appreciate the good moments, too.
