Happy Birthday, Daphne! Pansy arrived at the Community Centre at the crack of dawn to get things ready for Daphne's birthday party. Even though it was supposed to be a joint party for Daphne and Tracey, and Tracey wasn't there anymore, she was determined to go through with everything. Daphne deserved her party. Pansy decorated the long tables in the Community Centre by placing runners down the center of them, then arranging vases of flowers, candles, and other pretty things along them. Even though the party was held in the middle of the day, as well as indoors, Pansy also strung white flowered lights all across the ceiling of the building. Along the back wall were three tables — one for food, one for presents (for those who hadn't already given Daphne a gift and wanted to), and one for drinks. Pansy had placed orders for most of the food, of course, because cooking isn't her strong point. (If anyone wants to say that their character made something, that's fine! I'm assuming she ordered the cake from the bakery.) The beverages consisted of punch, butterbeer, etc. If someone wanted to bring something stronger, they could. Whatever you wanted to drink, it was probably there! The food was finger-food type things. Fancy, naturally. Crackers with pate, mini quiches, petit fours, finger sandwiches, etc. There was also a variety of music playing throughout the afternoon for people to enjoy or dance to if they so desired. About halfway through the party, the cake was brought out. Although it wasn't technically Daphne's birthday, Pansy still encouraged everyone to join in singing Happy Birthday to her. Guests were free to stay and mingle and visit as long as they liked. Once everyone had left, Pansy cleaned everything up. |
