It had been a week. A whole week without Lily and Polaris. Scorpius had almost lost his mind as a result. Missing them had nearly consumed him. He couldn't sleep. His appetite was gone. He just wanted them back. In between all the disasters and the comforting he offered to the others as a result, Scorpius spent his time wishing they would return and turning over the pack of crayons Polaris had left behind. It was all either of them had left behind ... until now.
The village was back. The entire village, it seemed. The journals were exploding with writing and Scorpius was eagerly drinking it all in. Still, he wasn't at peace because someone was missing. Lily and Polaris were not there. It was late though, they might not even know. With that thought in mind, he fled his Uncle's house to return to his own home. His home with them. They had to be there. There was no other option. Scorpius could not and would not do this place without them. He needed his family. He needed Lily. When he arrived, he tried to be quiet. Usually he was, but the lack of sleep these past few days paired with his nervous excitement led to his movements being louder and jerkier than normal. By the time he reached their bedroom, he was positive he might have woken them up, creaking open the door with a wince to poke his head inside. It was only then that he found the peace he needed.
There, wrapped up beneath their blankets, was Lily with Polaris nearby. Both of them were sound asleep and Scorpius felt the grip on his heart release. They were here. They were back. They were together again. He wanted desperately to wake them up, but he knew that would be selfish. He couldn't just walk away though. Toeing off his shoes to quiet his steps, he made his way around to Lily's side of the bed. Taking a moment to admire the lines of her face, he pushed her hair from her forehead and leaned down to press a kiss there.
