WHERE: Godric's house
WHEN: the day after Helga arrived... so backdated to 30th June
RATING: G
STATUS: in progress
Being in the village was like having some strange form of amnesia. So many people seemed to know who Helga was, and yet she had no recollection of them at all. Most of these were from the future, and Helga felt justified in not knowing them, but she felt distinctly uncomfortable with the idea that there were people from her own personal future who knew her, but she did not know them yet. She was not uncomfortable with them, per se, it was more like she was uncomfortable with herself. She felt inexplicably guilty, as though if she tried hard enough she ought to be able to recognise them and somehow age by sheer force of will. Even though she knew it was stupid, Helga still felt like she wanted to make some kind of amends. She did not want to hurt anybody's feelings by not knowing them. Furthermore, she was intrigued to meet the other two whose destinies were to be so intertwined with hers. She did not know what they would be like, except that if they were such great friends in the future, then they must be pretty amazing. Aside from her family, Helga had not met anybody that she liked so much as Rowena, so anybody who could muscle in on that territory was certainly worth befriending at the first opportunity.
It was with some nervousness that she approached the door of Godric's house. Rowena had filled her in on much of their later history, and so Helga felt a little more prepared, but it was still a daunting prospect. What if she disappointed him? She was only young still, and people in the village seemed to treat her with more respect than she felt she truly deserved. She would hate to be a let down. This was silly, she told herself. Time could not be wrong. They would be great friends in the future, and if she was not yet all she would be, surely he would see and understand. They could still be friends.
Helga knocked on the door.
