Walburga didn't need to look at him to know that he was upset. She slowly withdrew her hand when he pulled his hand away from hers. Slowly, she looked up at him, not entirely certain how to handle this. "Yes, Alphard. You do. You and Cygnus and Orion." And me. She looked down, very quietly saying, "And me." It was barely above a whisper and she couldn't help but hope that it would go unheard. She didn't say anything for a moment before saying, "And I said I was sorry."
It took a few moments before she could look at him again. "He seemed quite dear to you. I'm sorry that this is what I had to tell you." She felt awkward and it only made her posture more stiff. There was something she was supposed to do but she couldn't be sure that anything would be welcomed. "I didn't think to ask when or why. I didn't want someone you didn't know well telling you..."
