It had seemed like a good idea at the time. Of course a little voice in the back of Minerva's mind had valiantly attempted to comment on it, making note that if it had been anyone else she would have pointed out to them that it only seemed to be aiding in a downward spiral. She had quickly shut that voice up though, burying it beneath the surface and trying to put on a good front. She tried to pull on her good memories, on the people here that she loved, but when that wasn't enough she went further. The pub here was decent and after spending the past month buried beneath Dougal's flannels or hidden in stacks of books she tried something else. She got properly dressed up and went to the pub and proceeded to imbibe half the liquor stock there before bidding them farewell.
She hadn't gotten very far though. It was getting cold. She was cognizant enough to be aware of that. She should have brought a sweater, but the biting air actually felt good on her bare arms. She had only intended to stop for a second. Her wand shop was not far off ... she thought. However, she had gotten caught up. This bench was comfortable and laying down felt good. It was a clear night, with very few clouds inhibiting her view of the sky. Her tangle of curls cascaded down the side of the bench, just brushing the ground as she swung her legs off the edge. The clack of her heels against the wood was oddly soothing. Her mind was tumultuous, caught up in all the thoughts she had been seeking to avoid which had her eyes nearly brimming with tears. She shook them off though, rubbing at them with her fists and letting out a huff. Maybe this hadn't been the best idea. "Fuck." she muttered, breathing in deeply as her head swirled.
