Megan was only too happy to be able to spend some time with Salazar after the past few days. While she had not been made to suffer over anything that had happened, she knew that her friends were hurting. She knew that Harry's arrival combined with when he had arrived from hurt Draco, who had come so very far from when they were in school. She didn't expect Harry to know that, but she had forgotten just how volatile their relationship was. She wasn't sure what they were speaking about or if they had even argued, but Draco had been upset. Albus had been upset. There had to be something in the water because such negativity seemed to be going around. Negativity and nostalgia for things that were not here. Megan hated thinking on the things she didn't have in this village, like her parents and her brother. She knew herself to be lucky in the people she did have. Not to mention, back home there was no chance of her ever seeing her Mum and Dad again. Here though each day boasted of new possibilities. Not all of them good, but she held out hope that they would be. Plus, back home Salazar would not be there and with each passing day she found herself increasingly more unable to bear that thought.
Turning up at his door, Megan cradled a relatively large container of red velvet cake in her hands. The necklace he had given her hung around her neck as it did most days. She liked the way it looked when she caught her reflection, and the way it reminded her of him. Smiling even now, she shifted the container in her hands to knock at the door.
