Filling Ron in on the end of the war was something Hermione was simultaneously dreading and looking forward to. She hated feeling like she was keeping secrets from him, and it would be a relief to finally get it all out there. At the same time, it wasn't pleasant information to share and she knew it would be upsetting. She'd asked Ron to come to her house, because honestly, this didn't seem like the sort of thing she should be doing over the journals. Hermione wanted Ron to physically be there when she told him — she wanted to see him and make sure he was okay. It was easier to hide feelings when simply writing to one another. She knew this from personal experience.
Once Ron had arrived, she led him to the couch and sat down next to him. "There's really no good or easy way to go about this," she began, wringing her hands together nervously. "I thought I'd just go ahead and tell you everything, starting at the point you came from." She wasn't going to go intro excruciating detail, however. She'd stick to the basics. Just the facts. If he wanted to know more, he could ask. "If you don't want to hear it all in one sitting, I understand. There's quite a bit to tell. And — I'm not doing this to burden you, I promise. I just know how frustrating it can be to not know what people are talking about. If you want me to stop, though, just tell me."
