Caradoc's eyes fluttered shut once more, leaning into her touch with a soft sigh. "Mm, they are pretty stupid." he agreed softly, smiling gently at her words. "No." he murmured in return, "No, I won't. Not ever. I promise." he said, turning his head to press a kiss to the heel of her hand before blinking his eyes back open. Everything hurt, everything ached, but he wanted to be able to hold her. His mind was a foggy cloudy place. He remembered being here as a kid, he remembered being here as an adult, he remembered being captured and everything in between, but nothing was lining up. The only grounding force was Petunia and he hung onto her hand for it.
"I'm so sorry, love." he repeated once more when silence fell. "I am. I'm sorry." he insisted, brushing his knuckles along her cheek bone before retracting his hand and sucking in a deep breath. Using that to steel himself, he bit his lower lip, nodding to himself before using what little strength he had to shift over in the bed. Of course, this resulted in a pained hiss, numerous mumbled curses and a renewed flair up of ridiculous, mind numbing pain. When he settled, it was with a pained grown, knuckles white where they had curled in the sheets. His breathing was stuttered and labored, but he managed and when he blinked his eyes to meet hers, his smile was strained but he nodded towards the bit of space.
