"Yes, mummy," Zacharias said nodding exaggeratedly. He handed her the smaller of the buns, which was only slightly smaller than the other one, and rested his on his bent knee. "Who is mummy?"
The child was absolutely brilliant for the age she was, even with the language barrier. Still, there were certain things he could understand. Hopefully, he wasn't too confusing to her. And hopefully he would remind her of someone she might know from wherever she was from. Zacharias smiled at the little girl and hunched forward, unsure if it would perhaps make her feel better to be taller than he was. He noted the blanket she has wrapped around her and he wasn't sure if it was something she had found here in the village, or where she was from. It didn't look particularly old or anything.
