Speaking with Alicia over the journals had reminded Aberforth of the upcoming Easter holiday. It had nearly slipped his mind until he checked his calendar and saw it notated next to tomorrow's date. How long had it been since he'd last celebrated a holiday? Gods, it had been years. Holidays weren't holidays without his sister and though he ascribed to no religious beliefs, spending tomorrow with Ariana, just like they used to, would be nice. That was what drew Aberforth to the greenhouse. After stopping by Ariana's room only to discover that she was not in, the greenhouse was his next stop as his sister seemed to enjoy spending her time there. Lately he had been wondering if perhaps she might join him when he began his gardening duties. The task would be so much more enjoyable with her at his side. He had settled on asking her tonight in addition to inquiring after her plans for tomorrow. He hoped she would have time for him. Hearing movement from within the greenhouse as he approached, Aberforth felt his heart lighten and a smile blossom on his face. No one could make him happy like his little sister could.
As soon as he walked through the door though that changed. Ariana was there, yes, and he had arrived just in time to see her collapse. The crash of the cauldron and the shatter of the tea cup caused him to jump, his heart seizing up in his chest as he tried to process what was happening. Gryffindor though he was, Aberforth had experienced so much trauma in his life that his body reacted quite severely to it. All at once his world closed in on him, his lungs ceased to work before his heart finally kick started once more, pounding in his chest and pushing him forward. It took just a few long, quick strides to bring him to her side, panic evident on his features, hand shaking in fear that he had lost her all over again.
"Ariana. Ariana. Ariana, please. It's Aberforth. Open your eyes, little sister." he begged, pressing a hand to her cheek as he pulled her into his lap. Her chest was still moving, rising and falling with each breath she took. Jerking his head over to look at the cauldron, he wondered what had been in it. Had someone poisoned her? A rage bubbled up inside of him and Aberforth felt it threatening to burst through but he had to make sure his sister was alright before he did anything else. With a shaking hand he reached out, snatching up the cup and shoving it into his pocket before moving to lift his sister into his arms. "It's going to be okay. It's all okay, Ari. I'm here." he murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
