Perhaps in the literal sense, yes, she was a stranger, but not to Remus. He was a man who would never raise his son or watch him marry so Remus did not take the chance to know those from the future lightly. It was a gift for however long it lasted. He perched in the chair next to the bed after giving her arm a pat. He didn't want to startle her though he wished he could place a kiss on her forehead. She looked so sad and defeated. He knew some of it had to be the final stage of pregnancy, but the stress clearly made it ten times worse. "Funny looking, huh? Poor kid." He dug in his pocket and held up a small, wrapped box of what was obviously chocolates. "For later, yeah?" He placed it on the nightstand. "Are you feeling any better, darling?"
