Remus felt horrible for upsetting Victoire even if indirectly. It was not his intention, but apparently saying how much he cared about her and wanted to support everyone involved somehow meant he was only arguing for his son and he hated Victoire. He wasn't sure where the leap started, but Molly's entry only heightened his suspicion that private comments were twisted into things he just did not say. Whether it was Fleur's direct comments to her daughter or interpretation or even other people muddying the waters between mother and daughter, Remus was at a loss. If he actually so much as hinted at the negative feelings, he could say he understood, but he said the direct opposite. He only met Victoire briefly last time, but she was the mother of his grandchildren back in the the world so of course he cared about her. It didn't matter who Teddy dated in the village. But now Victoire, this version, thought she wasn't welcomed in his family. His very small family at that. It made him sick thinking of her crying and hurting.
Needless to say, he ignored the journals all day. He did, however, place a special charm so he'd know if Victoire or Teddy directly warded him. He was relieved when he finally heard the chime and saw Victoire's writing. He hurried to the hospital as promised the night before. When he arrived, he took a deep breath and knocked lightly at the door which was half opened. He smiled gently. "May I come in?"
