“You need to stop referring to her as your daughter, she’s our Daughter, Victoire. She is ours and I’m her father. I am not saying that I changed V, I’m saying the circumstances are different here. A lot of things happened here that wouldn’t have happened in the real world. Like the fact that I lost both of my parents, again, in the same night, after months of finally getting to know them.” He shook his head. “And I don’t expect you to understand, because you haven’t been here long enough to know how much this places messes with a person.”
“If there is anyone, anyone in this entire village who is standing in the way of our daughter having a complete family. It’s you. Because I know, that I will do anything to keep her safe, to make sure she’s happy and loved, and taken care of. And, yeah, I would trust you to do the same. But apparently that feeling isn’t mutual at all.”
He was mad, practically shaking with the anger of it all, tears forming at the corner of her eyes, so desperate for something, something he couldn’t quite figure out. “I will be a part of my daughters life, I refuse to not be allowed that much. You know how important that is to me, and how you can even consider taking that away from me, making it something conditional… that’s I don’t even know, Victorie. That’s cold.”
