"No?" Helga replied, unconsciously mirroring Hannah by cocking her own head. "Are you sure? Perhaps they just did not tell you about it."
She smiled. Helga knew that often children forgot that their teachers were people with their own motivations and goals and feelings. Of course, it could also be the case that things had changed since her time, or that her circumstances were simply different. Helga had never, officially, been a teacher at home, and neither had her mother. The role could be quite different if you were being paid for it and working in an established institution rather than out of your own kitchen, or in a castle you had built yourself.
