"Have you ever tried any of the really vintage ones? The ones that need tripods because they can't focus and you have to look down into them because they don't have view finders? They're ... inconvenient, but they take cool pictures. Sometimes you can get them to focus on the subject in front of the lens and the background is just blurry. It took me a while to figure that out." Dennis replied, having gained quite a bit more knowledge about cameras in the past seven years. In Colin's time he still needed to follow his brother's step by step directions and even then sometimes the pictures came out over exposed or with his thumb in the frame.
When he spoke about the digital camera though, Dennis had to smile. "I could show you, but you'll need a computer. Do they have computers here?" he asked curiously. Dennis would always prefer film, but in his time it was like a digital revolution especially when it came to cameras. More so in the muggle world than the wizarding though, since wizards had yet to even jump on the technological innovation of computers. Had he recognized the shortened form of Cressida's name, he might have had more to say, but he didn't and so the name slipped by with little recognition and had Dennis nodding.
"Yeah" he replied, fingering the tattoo on his arm once more without consciously realizing it. "Uh- it's sorta my profession." he admitted with a shrug, as if it was no big deal. He didn't want to delve into what had led him down that path even though it was obvious. Talk of his brother's friends brought a tiny smile to his face then and he gave a small nod. "I would like that. Meeting them. Helping with lessons." The thought of asking someone out on a date though had Dennis pursing his lips together and shaking his head. He knew himself well enough to know not to involve himself with Colin's friends in that fashion. His last 'girlfriend,' if you could call her that, had burst into tears and cried about how Dennis was never there. When he pointed out that he was she had simply gone on to talk about him being emotionally unavailable and why couldn't he love her and so on and so forth. It had been incredibly uncomfortable and he felt rotten by the end of it so relationships weren't really his thing at the moment. "Uh- I'll- no thanks." he managed, shaking his head before pushing past. "You have a collection of cameras here?"
