Petunia was unused to all of this and she'd never had feelings for anyone. Certainly not anyone who seemed so fond of her...even if it was just as a friend. That was the part that twisted her heart. She felt her eyes watering up and her vision was just a little blurred. She didn't know why it hurt to hear good things about herself. She felt second to Lily. She'd always felt second to Lily. Lily was the one with magic, with green eyes and red hair and everything. Lily had everything. Petunia was just...Petunia.
Her hand moved up to cover her mouth briefly before rubbing at her eyes. "But I grow up and I lock my nephew in a cupboard and I make him do all these terrible things. My sister is dead and I treat him so horribly. How is that- I'm not- And that's not the first time I've-" She shook her head as she tried to keep herself from crying. "None of that is good. You're the only person I've been entirely nice to. I'm not. And no wonder everyone likes Lily better. I treat people terribly. Lily would tell you. She probably has told you." She looked down, biting down on her lower lip. "I don't know how to be mean to you."
