Intensity was Caradoc's forte. Everything he did, felt, and believe in were done with such complete and utter passion and devotion. His sorting into Hufflepuff house came as no surprise given these traits. Loyal and hardworking were just two of the traits in his arsenal. When he had met Petunia, he hadn't expected his feelings for her to develop so fully and strongly. How could he resist though? He really had no idea how he was expected to remain unfazed all things considered. "No." he insisted softly, "No, I want to answer." He wanted her to know. Petunia was always making comments to belittle herself, to praise Lily and tear her own person down. It was devastating to hear and Caradoc wanted to make sure she knew that she was not second as she always seemed to think.
"I-- because you're you." he began simply, voice deep and even as he spoke. "You're Petunia. You're kind and clever. You see things other people don't. You make me smile without even trying to. Because when- when I found out everything- you're the only person who made it a little bit better really. Everyone else- they- they lied to me and it hurt, but you- you took some of it away and I thank you for that. You don't seem to realize just how wonderful you are, Petunia. You're a good friend. You know when to push and when not to. You know what to say to make things better. You're strong and quick witted and funny. The list is endless and it hurts me to think you don't realize any of this. You're so good, Tunes. There's so much good in you and I like being around that. I makes me happy." He tried to hold her gaze the entire time he spoke, but a few of the more revealing sentences threatened to draw his eyes away. However, he remained unflinching because he wanted her to know that everything he said was true. He did not make any of it up to make her feel better. He meant it. "You're you and you is just ... it's perfect." he finished with a slight hitch of his shoulder and a small smile. His hand remained steadfast on her face, thumb still sweeping over her soft skin. "Believe that."
