Who: Alicia Spinnet & Aberforth Dumbledore What: Running into each other at the lake. Where: The Lake When: Wednesday Afternoon (forward dated a bit) Rating/Status: TBD/Ongoing
Lately Alicia had been spending more and more time out by the lake. It was one of the few places she actually felt less trapped, less strange, less out of place. She wasn't going to lie, she felt insanely out of place here. Sure, she was doing better than she had been before. She had Lee, and Roger (even if he did get old), she had Ange, and Fred, and she was getting to know new people. Like Draco Malfoy. Which still surprised her. Alicia wouldn't go so far to say she liked Draco, but she didn't mind him. He wasn't so bad. It'd take her a little bit longer to say she considered him a friend.
In a lot of ways she felt pathetic. She had a bottle of a chilled rose and a red in a backpack, along with some bread and cheese as she made her way out to the lake again. It felt like that was what she did anymore. It was depressing living alone, working alone, eating alone. If she was going to eat alone she might look out on the lake instead of an empty house right? Yup. Pathetic.
Shocker was taking his time sniffing at different things along the way to the lake. "Shocks!" She said turning to make sure he was in eyesight he was, of course. She was just being overly worried for no real logical reason at all. It was when she turned towards the lake that the wind sent hints of cigarette smoke and she saw someone sitting by the lake. Her first thought was to turn around, or had to a different part of the lake. Something stopped her though.
She knew the man sitting by the lake. Her heart caught. Part of her wanted to turn around just because of that, but the other part of her figured hell, it wasn't like he hadn't already seen a lot of her. What could it hurt to at least say hello? It'd been nice having dinner with him, even though Alicia felt a bit awkward and had no idea how to act around him during it. Still, it had been good to see him outside of the love potion stuff.
Alicia was normally more brave, and less about thinking things through and more about doing. Right now though, she was nervous and didn't know what the right answer was, or what path she should take. Finally she spoke. "Mind if I join you?" She said with an attempt at a friendly smile, as she was only a few yards away. If he said no, she would go around the lake a while before settling in. She'd understand if he wanted to be alone.
