Alphard could not know each word regarding Sirius stung Remus. Yes, Remus was well into his thirties, but he loved his fellow Marauders dearly. It was no secret he felt closer to Peter and that James and Sirius were a clear pair, but, when times called for it, Remus imagined he'd be wanted by them. Remus felt brushed off the night Sirius learned Bellatrix killed him and though he stepped aside to let James handle it, he couldn't forget it. Maybe it was because he was much older now. Maybe it was because they were three and not four. It didn't really matter. Remus was hurt.
He didn't say that now. Instead, he mustered the best smile he could and nodded. "Growing up with someone is not something to take for granted," he agreed. "I am glad you have him here." He hoped he didn't look as rattled as he felt. "And the same. Please don't be a stranger."
