It was a good thing Alphard had learned long ago to mask his emotions, because to say he was surprised didn't even begin to cover it. Alphard wasn't quite sure how he ought to respond since the news came out of no where really. Well, not no where. After all, they had gotten together to talk and this was certainly clearing the air between them. Alphard had learned long ago to let things go that other people held such prejudices against. He had to otherwise he never would have accepted himself. His explorations into the Muggle world had lent to further understanding, not that his family would know that.
When he finally did respond, it was not with hate or scorn, but rather concern. "Oh. Remus." the careful mask he held gave way to a look of concern as he asked, "You are okay though, yes? I've heard that- the moon can be rather- trying." he said, eyes scanning the other man as if to look for injury before settling on his face once more. His lips pulled up in a small smile as he said, "I was right to say you were a remarkable man. It seems you have overcome much that might have stopped others in their tracks." He hesitated for another moment before asking, "The future- seems more progressive than my time. Is that- something that is accepted as well?" He hoped for his friends sake that it was.
