Caradoc made a dismissive noise at her comment, shaking his head to accompany it. "Lily is clever, yes, but so are you." he responded, "Grades are just letters. Numbers. They don't accurately measure someone's intelligence. You're far more clever than you give yourself credit for. You shouldn't sell yourself short like that, yeah?" To think that Petunia didn't think as highly of herself as she ought to was distressing. Maybe Caradoc was biased, but he found Petunia to be exceeding kind and clever. Nothing anyone said to the contrary would convince him otherwise. He had seen it first hand and would not believe a word against her.
"Mm, I think the fact that you put up with me makes you the one who's far too kind." he replied, gesturing towards her with his sandwich in hand and a smile on his face. "Don't argue, Tunes. I'll win this one. I already know you're far too good for me and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. Remember, I spend a good bit of time with you. I know these things. I'm a better judge too because we're our own worst critics and all so please don't say negative things about Petunia. I really rather like her."
