Caradoc managed a look of mock afront before letting it go with a soft chuckle and gentle squeeze. As much as being this close to her twisted his stomach up in knots, it was also nice. It was a weird sort of nervous tension that had him feeling both out of sorts and completely and utterly happy. Merlin, feelings were strange. Fancying someone was strange, but he was glad for Petunia being here. He really did like her. For a moment, he wished that his potion had gotten mixed with hers, but he quickly let the thought go. If that had happened, her feelings wouldn't have been real and he wanted them to be real. He was just scared of doing something and ruining their friendship. Caradoc wasn't notorious for being good with women. He had barely even had a first kiss. It was a bit sad really.
Pushing all thoughts of his inadequacy to the back of his mind, he let out a laugh and met her gaze. "Ah, but that would make a great epitaph, don't you think?" he teased in response, letting go of her once they reached the kitchen. Heading over to the fridge then, he pulled it open to look in at what they had in. "Mm, looks like the choices are corned beef, turkey, or ham. What do you want?" he asked, glancing over the door to meet her gaze.
