Petunia had been thinking of a list of things to say when he opened the door, but the moment he did, her mouth went dry and she couldn't think of anything at all to say. This was all so very stupid. So was the impulse to kiss him when that was probably the most awkward and ridiculous thing to do in the world. She didn't want to seem like she was only kissing him because of some other girl. Even if that was part of it at the moment.
At any rate, he'd hugged her and she couldn't do anything else but hug him back and press her face against his shoulder. If she held on a little tighter than she normally would have, she gave no indication of noticing it. She just stayed there. "I missed you, too." The words were quiet, but said nonetheless. Her eyes squeezed shut and she pulled back after a moment, looking up at him. "I don't like her," she said quietly, not really sure why she felt compelled to say so. "I mean...I don't know her, so I don't..." Frowning slightly, Petunia tried again. "I don't feel that way about that girl. Or any girl." I like you. But she couldn't say that. What if he didn't like her?
