He was better than this, really. Better than the assumptions and the rash judgments and leaping to conclusions that would likely be hurtful after the fact. But as much as he tried to let the rational part of his mind win the day, with Fred and Padma going on as they had, it wasn't the easiest thing to do. So Angelina's offer of liquor and equally miserable company had been an easy one to take up, and when she opened the door for him, he wasn't surprised to see the open bottle already behind her.
