Walburga couldn't look up. His voice said enough. All of this was painful because the next part would make sure he was divided from her forever. She was sure. Her heart ached even more and her eyes closed as she willed herself to keep her expression neutral, to keep from expressing as much as she wanted. Part of her knew there was really no point in being so composed and put together, but she wouldn't get through it otherwise and she was already ruining everything and it was all Draco and Cygnus and everyone else's fault. Everyone but her.
"Sirius left us in the future. He didn't believe in blood purity apparently. So he left. And so I disowned him." With some effort, Walburga looked at her brother. "Apparently you cared about him and gave him money." There was a long pause before she continued with, "And so I-" Here her voice cracked and her gaze dropped. "Well, then I blasted you off the tree." Her voice was small and her posture just a touch less than it should have been. "I didn't want you to know because I- you would- you will leave me."
She was absolutely certain her heart had taken up residence in her throat. At least if she suffocated because of it she would be dead and she wouldn't have to feel any of this anymore. "Sirius knows. I thought...I thought he'd have told you and..." There was not enough alcohol in the world to make this easier. Not even a little. "I can't- I can't lose you and yet I will. Won't I?" Sirius would be pleased. Everyone would clearly be pleased because everyone hated her anyway. To see her fall, to see her lose everything would merely give them pleasure and she had done it to herself, so it could only bring them more.
