It was terribly melancholy and Lorcan didn't dare look over at Kirley while he spoke. Instead he kept his gaze down on his cup of coffee and spoke freely. He always did. Speaking about his emotions or how he felt back then never bothered him. He was an open book in that way, he never suppressed his feelings. Which some might say was a weakness, but he never saw it as such. It was just part of who he was.
It had been several years, but it all was still very fresh in his mind. He was thankful for the change in topic. He had loved Kirley very much, but that Kirley and this one while similar were not at the same place in their lives. Close, but not quite. It made things all that more awkward. But he was determined to put his best foot forward and try his best not to stumble over it.
"Favorite flower, really?" He said with a slight laugh, brushing his more dour feelings aside. "Orchids. Although I'm not much for flowers or being able to keep them alive. But I do like Orchids, although any symbolism about them is beyond me."
He smiled with genuine ease and surprise. He rather liked the question that followed. He got a lot of strange questions from people, but nobody ever asked him that. "Well people ask me what I actually smell like, which I assume is nothing at all. But if were talking scents I like, I guess vanilla and sandalwood. But probably not in combination. All good things in moderation, as they say."
