Lucius couldn't help but feel relieved. When his wife was here, she had been so different, so indifferent, towards him, he had found it hard to deal with. She had hated Andromeda in his time. Though he had often thought that her words were just that. After all, if she could forgive Bellatrix for her long list of crimes, what was a little muggleborn marriage? His parents had found it disgusting, of course, so disgusting that they had wanted him to break off their engagement. Though Lucius had faith in Narcissa's word that she wouldn't associate herself with that side of the family again. His trust was well-placed, it seemed, she had respected his wishes. At least until after the second war, but he could accept that for now.
"I'm sorry to bring up a sore topic. It was not my intention to focus on that particular time." His apology was genuine, though he didn't expect it to be received as such. "I'm sure you're aware by now that I am not like Narcissa," he paused, "As an only child I could never fully understand the bonds between siblings. True, Cissy was deeply hurt by Andromeda's actions, but I had never ruled out the possibility of them reuniting...As much as I would have disapproved, though like I said - only child." Lucius reached for his drink and took another welcomed sip. "I was trying to map out when exactly this reunion took place - if it did at all - and if it had happened before, during or after the war. I knew, of course, that it was unlikely to have happened during the war, considering our-" he paused again, allowing time to look his companion in the eye. "considering our differences. It matters because I'd like to know more of my family's future, and how involved you were - or weren't, as the case may be. Like I said, Narcissa wasn't much for conversation when she was here."
