It had been surprising, being at Hogwarts one minute and then the next surrounded by shops with questionable names, but Devi wasn't one to be thrown by surprises. She found humour in most things, and adventure in many. At some point, rationality would surely kick in and she would want to know more about the situation, but for now she was just enjoying it. She had a book that wrote back to her, and a younger version of her mum was on her way to see her. It was cool, and at this point she assumed she'd be able to find her way back to Hogwarts afterwards. Like many teenagers, much as she loved her family, Devi's peer group was just as important to her. Looking in the window of what she could only describe as a sex shop, Devi wished briefly that there was someone her age to giggle about it with. Still, her mum was coming, and Devi was looking forward to that. All three of the girls were close to their mother, and Devi missed her during termtime, even though she didn't show it.
Padma was younger than she had been last time Devi saw her, but not so much that it felt weird. She just looked like she'd used a really good facemask last night. Certainly recognisable, anyway.
"Mum!" she exclaimed, and bounced over for a hug. "You look bee-yootiful," she said, letting go and stepping back. "This place, wherever it is, must agree with you."
