While still very angry, Lorcan couldn't help but feel shame at having scared Kirley as he had. That didn't of course make it any less necessary in his mind. He wasn't a man who liked to frighten or intimidate people. But he was definitely not one who liked to have his emotions toyed with either.
Lorcan let Kirley push him away. He had the superior strength on his side, but he gave no resistance to the shove. What he needed to do was done, even if he felt like shit about it. He'd deal with the grief later.
