Not a piece of cake - well that was definitely an accurate understatement. With a quick grimace, George then had to admit that it somehow relieved him to talk with Trish about this topic. It was difficult to bring it up in conversation when so many of the people involved in it were the people to whom he usually turned. Poor Helga and Draco had been getting the brunt of it lately.
"I don't know," George mumbled, staring out at the cold night as they walked. "Being alone. Taking Fred's place. When the day comes that I'll have lived longer without Fred than with him. If it ever starts to feel normal. Raising children. Raising a son named Fred. Running the shop by myself. Having to be inside there by myself. Looking in a mirror. Having a second set of everything in the flat and only using one set."
For a few minutes longer George went on listing mundane parts of day-to-day activities until finally he exhaled at length and said: "Living."
