"I think death has enough company to not notice it's been cheated," Cho said quietly, but was just as glad to move the conversation over to something much less macabre, and also much more practical.
"The people who went home must have missed their families greatly." She misses her parents, and her little brother, her housemates. "Well. That's a relief," she said, giving a light chuckle. "I think I'm supposed to work in a clothing store? I guess that's all right. What do you do here?"
She wanted to reach out and touch his hand, but she hesitated. Maybe he'd been here long enough that such an action would be unwelcome or awkward. Her mind was still trying to keep up with what was going on, and she had a feeling she wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.
