night_childe25 for her birthday. She requested Severus saves Harry from the Dursleys. My original idea was extremely angsty and very canon. I have wanted to explore some aspects of canon for some time, so most of those ideas got incorporated into this story. This story is full of introspective Snape.

However, she requested a mostly happy ending, so I'm giving her one of those, too. The ending is completely open to the reader’s interpretation. You can interpret it as a parental relationship, a friendship, pre-slash, whatever you want.
