Jude 1) 1920's: Public defender in California for awhile, and then to New York to work on the devoutly Catholic Democrat Al Smith's campaign in 1928. (No miracles were pulled off on that one.) '29 brought him to Chicago.
2) Victorian Era (1837 - 1901): Itinerant physician in the American Southwest, working almost exclusively with the Spanish-speaking population, heading from Arizona to California in time for the Gold Rush.
3) 1960's: Good times. Vatican II, the only Pope all century that Jude actually loved, hanging with the Berrigan brothers and Thomas Merton, Catholic Worker house named after him in Chicago. Dorothy Day told him if he liked it then he should have put a ring on it. Protesting for peace and civil rights. Got arrested a few times. Moved around a lot between New York, Baltimore, and Chicago.
