Hallo FG! I'm DCJ returning with LSD because I couldn't stay away (and the 12-step program didn't work)
Harmony (still played by Andrew VanWyngarden) has changed his surname and come back from disappearing and reappearing somewhere in California before making his way back to NY. He's his usual airheaded, psychedelic loving self and he's looking for his family so any drug gods still around? Come at me bro!
On that note, anyone who might know him from hippy culture times, music genres, etc, are welcome to assume they're old friends
I'm happy to discuss backstory but Harm has mostly rebooted - I'm assuming he remembers things happening but it's a bit like a movie he saw once and not something that happened to him.

Weekend coming up = greater chance of people having time to read spiel. So here I am, trawling for plot.
So here's my thinking; I figure the beauty of Zac is in having a (seemingly) human character who can be killed and killed again in an rpg full of gods and goddesses, who enjoy the odd bit o' smiting, no? Even benevolent gods smite people on occasion but in the usual run of an rp day, your fellow players get kind of frowny if you start smiting their peeps. (I will admit to having a bit of fun here using the word 'smite'. Not one I get to use all that often.)
Zac was created specifically because I wanted to see what interesting things could be made to happen to a guy who dies (frequently), yet who doesn't go quietly, or indeed at all, into the hereafter. So essentially what I'm offering is the absolute beauty of that moment when your god or goddess spots him across the street, does a double-take and thinks, 'Wait a minute! Is that...? Didn't I just smite that little #%$&#?!"
Perhaps a scenario where an acquaintanceship/friendship of some kind is formed, work-related or social, Zac somehow manages to give offense (not difficult) and--here comes that delicious word again-- gets his ass smote.
Coming back, Zac would not be happy. Zac might even try and get his own back, his inability to do so alerting him to the fact that his intended victim may not be as human as he/she appears. But too late to run, his murderous attentions having alerted his intended victim to the return of their victim from the dead. Either that, or you do spot the not-so-late Zac across the street and a bit of research among your fellow deities turns up the relevant tidbits of info required to have you hunting out bondage spells.
Zac's been the plaything of gods before, which also opens the possibility of backstory and of Zac running into someone he's met (and served?) in the past. Zac can be bound by spelled items which survive any rebirth. So he makes a handy spy or assassin or anything else that might result in death because in Zac's case, that's only a temporary setback.
I also have no problem envisioning him serving more than one master in all different kinds of capacities, whatever is required at the time. He's a beautiful idiot, smart, mercenary, carnal and vengeful, and hard-wired to keep on wiggling even though utterly ensnared.

Hi, I'm Raven, new to the game and I'd like to introduce my pup Zac to the comm as well as declare open season on him plotwise.
His full bio is here, but in a nutshell, Zac is the 2000+ year old hybrid offspring of a Grigori and a demon, technically a Nephilim, if only because the demon was impersonating a human female at the time of his birth.
I've left his current situation open to increase my chances of finding some plot to slide him into or to generate something, so let me know. But what he's really in need of in the first instance is a place to live and a job. He can do just about any lower-end job, thought I doubt you could shoe-horn him into a suit or even a tie. Not office worker or executive material, Zac. But a shop, a bistro, a bar...and accommodation.
I don't mind dark stuff. I thread, I do gdocs and email. I don't use AIM.

Let's plot!
Here, have a plotting post! FG is such a big game, and between time zones and differing schedules it's sometimes hard to get a hold of people for plotting purposes. And if you're new to the game, or particularly shy about contacting others, I know initiating things can be difficult.
So consider this a stress-free, all-purpose plot post. Comment with a list of your characters and, if you like, any ideas or suggestions you may have for interaction; reply to others' comments if anything takes your interest, and just get plotting! Ideas and suggestions for game-wide events are welcome, too.
Replying is completely optional -- it's just another way of getting in touch with people and getting those creative juices flowing. Enjoy! |

I know I've hoovered around here in name only for the last couple (or many months) I know. To be honest for some time I have had no idea where to start or pick back up with my characters since most of the interaction with them was wiped out. I am sorry if I hung anyone up or irritated anyone for my time away. Real life has taken precedence in some situations with my mother's health and my own. I had lost my interest to write in FG for a while and perhaps I should have backed out, but part of me can't let go. I would like to step back up to start afresh especially since now my characters have little ties in game that were there previous.
So I am reaching out to you FG with my characters Achilles, Orpheus and J-rock for a final time to see if I can get some motivation going and rekindle some ties I had with some of you. Again, I apologize.

1. Will be away from September 17 until the end of the month. I'm not sure whether I'll have internet access so if I'm not around, that's why. Just FYI! But before I do go: Change in plans, forget this!
2. Pheme is up to her old tricks, and her connections with Internet have given her access to some previously untapped resources. Got any photos of your characters that might cause them embarrassment? Some supposedly private emails that could cause them discomfort, if made public? Anything else you'd like to see published in Pheme's blog, for the lulz? Just let me know!
3. And speaking of my little gossip monster, Khush and I have some big plans for Pheme and Internet. We've developed an idea for a game-wide event, to kick off hopefully next month, which should provide plenty of fun RP opportunities for anybody who wants to be involved.
I'll put up a separate post explaining how things will work in more detail closer to the event, but ( here it is in short. )
4. Also coming up next month is Halloween. Would anybody be interested in celebrating it with some in-game shenanigans? I'm thinking monsters! |

Hi everyone!
Yeah... so... work smacked me upside the head last week and I was unable to get things together for the game-wide mind game Kali will be playing with the city. However, things will be falling into place fast for this. Phase 1 involved Kali summoning her mortal contacts in India she's utilized before for sacred holidays - Oorjit and Ms. Anuradha Kadaar and her "people".
Dāna will be opening later this week in tandem with the arrival of Anuradha and the Event.
In the next few days, Anuradha and Oorjit and their crew will be dispersing throughout the city, providing impromptu places to meditate and pray in public spaces in such a way. This will involve some "flash mob" yoga - don't be surprised if in the coming days your characters witness intense vinyasa yoga sequences in the most random places, or ecstatic, chaotic dance in equally random places. The root of this is probably Anuradha herself, who while mortal is an aspiring guru, and holds one of those deliciously dangerously beautifully infectious personalities. But the water to make that root grow is Kali herself, and the way Kali's roots grow is fast and chaotic. When Kali teaches the first day of donation-based yoga at Dāna, expect the shift in consciousness to start to flow outward from there. I'll be posting a few more things to lead up to the main event and will be posting the post where it all "starts" within the next 2-3 days.

So… hi. It's been a while. And things have been pretty quiet around here lately. But I'd like to change that.
We had a crap year last year. And when the dust from that cleared… I was burnt out. I know I wasn't the only one. I felt drained emotionally and creatively, and for a while I just have to take a step back from everything RP-related. But the longer I kept my distance, the more… I don't know, anxious I became about jumping back into things. It's dumb, I know.
But I miss this place. I miss all of our amazing players and characters, and the fun I used to get out of plotting and interacting and writing and being delighted by what others came up with. I'd like to try again.
So, rambling aside, consider this a general plotting post. Big or small, past or present, game-wide or one-on-one. I'd love to get some things going again.

July is Time Warp Month in FG! This is the (entirely optional) opportunity for you to take full advantage of the ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) forgotten_past comm and to get brainstorming with each other on what kind of past interactions your characters might have had. Any time period is fair game, whether it's last year, last century, last millennium, or way back in antiquity.
Feel free to use this as your all-purpose plotting thread. Toss around ideas, offer your characters up for plot -- or just say hell with it and throw an open thread out there in forgotten_past.

For those who haven't been around for the previous ones, this is basically a week dedicated to exploring our characters' pasts. It's a chance to go back in time, play around with past connections and misdeeds and such things. I was thinking we could go for the first week in July, unless people have some other preference?

Hello hello! I'm finished with exams! It is an excellent feeling! And it also means I finally have some time for plotting and fun things like that.
Which makes it a good time to (belatedly) introduce my new character. Her name is Cloacina and she is the goddess of the Roman sewers. No, really. Once upon a time she was honoured as a goddess of sanitation, purity and the cleansing of filth. Hell, she even came to be connected with Venus, and she had a shrine in the Forum. But history hasn't been kind to her, not at all. She's become an historical footnote, an amusing piece of trivia - a punchline. These days she lives in the sewers of New York City, along with the sewer alligators (the ones you know couldn't possibly actually exist) and other forgotten things.
She's a bitter, solitary creature, but I'm up for any and all interaction. Ditto for the rest of my characters - I'm keen to jump back into the game! :D
