Tommy felt a knot of tension ease in his back and he shook his head, letting his smile become a tad more genuine as he looked at Paul. "No, I may be painfully awkward at times - which, as an aside, I've been told is adorable and hilarious, so I hope you're viewing it in the same way - but I'm not about to let myself get pressured into anything, either by external forces or internal forces." And that was the truth; Tommy would decide for himself on this particular issue and, really, would probably decide to go through with it. Paul was beautiful, Harvey was simply... Harvey, and he could never feel uncomfortable around Bret.
It was just a matter of wrapping his mind around the concept, which happened slowly, just like every other major decision Tommy made, usually. His smile became just a little bit wider as Paul swapped their drinks, leaning forward to take a sip and trying not to grimace at the strong alcoholic taste; he'd never had rum before. "Much better. You know, I really don't get why they-" He jerked his head in the direction of Mark and Glibt. "-don't understand that by making alcohol this huge big thing that I'm not allowed to partake in, they're just making it seem... bigger and more exciting than it is. When, really, it's just booze. But that phenomenon can be seen on a larger scale, when it comes to anti-drug propaganda and usage statistics..."
Tommy trailed off. "But perhaps I should save the rambling for when I start classes again." He flushed a bit, trying not to think about how Paul had bit his lip after switching their drinks, because that would just make him start thinking about this far off thing again, but in a way that was best saved for when he was alone. "Valentine's Day?" Tommy looked between the two of them, the corners of his lips quirking up slightly. "That's a thought!" Although, really, maybe he'd want him and Bret's first Valentine's Day to be just them, alone, but this idea could take form at any time.
Infinitely more relaxed, he took a longer sip from his drink, wincing just a bit as the mix of rum and coke burned his throat slightly. "Oh, it definitely didn't show! Bret mentioned that you two might do an album together eventually and, just as a warning, if it does happen, I might have to tag along to your recording sessions and play the part of the adoring fan."
