He knew her plight far too well. After all, his side of the spectrum was collapsing. People were no longer going out and buying things because the government wouldn't give them a break. The people of the united states, his people, were hoarding their money, begging the government to get them out. Yet all the government was doing was throwing money away in large businesses that wouldn't do anything with it. The money wouldn't last more than a year tops, if that, and then they'd be back asking for more. A new president, at first, had given him new hope but once he learned more what the man stood for he found himself worried. What would happen if the US, the country he loved so dearly, were to give in to the more alluring temptation of socialism? It was a thought enough to make him shudder even as he down a shot of whiskey, eyes trained on his companion for the evening.
She was beautiful. Truly beautiful and he couldn't help but smile a little bit to himself at the thought. Members of the Republican Party had always been his most loyal followers. They would cry out in his name, claiming he was the best way. He was what America was built on and Capitalism? Loved it. It made him more powerful. However since the recession eyes were turning away from him and to other modern gods like the Democratic Party and Socialism, leaving him feeling weakened.
So of course the alcohol and the drinking partner were a nice escape and he couldn't help but bob his head in a bit of a nod in response to her comment.
