I know what you're thinking
Who: Zeus (rules_them_all)
What: Goodbye, love.
Where: Restaurant in a big city
When: Saturday
Warnings: None
He tells her after dessert that she is the proud owner of a beautiful beach house on Hawaii now and watches surprise and delight flutter across her pretty face. Large rooms with large windows and a spectacular view. Is he going to live there, too?
No, love. This is goodbye, don't you understand?
And before she can ruin the evening that had gone so well, he excuses himself, knowing that full-fledged disappointment is making an appearance now. His assistant passes by him on his way out, legal documents clamped under her arm as she approaches the table.
She will present the woman with those documents and a set of keys, will inform her that the bills for furniture and everything else she wants in that house will be taken care of if she would be so kind as to forward the bills to this address. It takes less than ten minutes to conclude this business.
"Mr Montgomery wishes you all the best and good luck with your future endeavours," the assistant says, rising from her seat, and then she, too, is gone before any kind of drama can take place.
