"A year?" Mark couldn't help it if his voice cracked a bit there. The idea was incredulous. "Jesus, it's not like we're trying to book Saint Patrick's." After telling her about his engagement, Columbia had been quick to point out that the cathedral was booked years in advance and that they would be best off postponing until 2013 if they wanted the 'right' setting. The conversation hadn't gone overly well after that.
His fingers started moving lightly over the damp, bare skin of her belly. "I like mid-January though. Just not on MLK Day. Malcolm would kill me." And his middle son was going to be upset enough when he was asked only to be a groomsman and not bestowed the title of Best Man. "January in either place could be nice. New England will look more like this, but DC has the nicer indoor locations and obviously, we both know it well. What do you think?" It wasn't the first time she would hear that question as they planned. It wasn't that Mark didn't have an opinion on things, he just wanted her to be happy.
"Bridal shows and antique shopping, check. Pool... I'm not hot yet. No reason to get in!" he grinned.
