George stepped into the shop, craning his neck to look over the shelves and display stands. He'd gotten off work earlier than usual, and figured he might as well take a detour to meet Laurie in person. The shop had the good, familiar scent of paper and dry air, with the rich smell of coffee hanging over everything. George smiled a little as he ran his fingers along the spines of some of the graphic novels.
The two kids over in the corner both had the familiar, sparking power that always marked New Gods in George's mind. He made his way towards them.
"Hi, I'm looking for Laurie?" he said, smiling. "I'm George."
