Henbane had felt the woman approach her before she actually saw her. She didn’t even bother to look up. She simply pretended to read the book in her hands. Perhaps if she showed enough disinterest in both the woman and her words, the other would leave. However, Henbane did wonder momentarily who this lady could be. There was power illuminating from her, a power Henbane had never before felt. It was nothing like that of her brothers and sisters. No, this woman was clearly not mortal and she was most certainly not a plant or a drug of any kind.
There was a sudden, unexpected desire to see that family. It had indeed been a long time since she last saw any of them, but the one’s whom she did desire to see were few and far between. And they clearly were not the one standing in front of her.
The longer this goddess stood in front of her, a short few moments though they were, Henbane realized she would want to be acknowledged. At least, that’s what she thought. So looking up, her blue eyes settling on the woman standing before her, Henbane did not so much as make any movement as she spoke. “I like the heat.” Indeed, there was no sign of sweat on whatever skin was visible. In fact, she had on a light jacket and looked quite comfortable.
