John, largely ignoring his sister, nodded at Peter and sat back to answer his follow-up questions. Everything was laid out so precisely in his mind that there was no question he felt he couldn't answer pertaining to this particular issue. John was hyper-aware of his surroundings; it was both a gift and a fault.
"I can do better than that - I can give you the names, faces and complete background records of my co-hosts. I chose and hired them myself." He paused for a moment and then said, "You're not required to report any criminal activity to the authorities, are you? I've done my own investigation and found it all very irrelevant to the individual's knowledge of their field." He reached for his coffee, looking carefully at it before taking a small sip and then a slightly longer one. "I can also get you information about our listeners and callers, including rather frequent contributers to the show. And I have not experienced anything out of the ordinary that was beyond my realm of control. This is beyond my realm of control. By all logic, I should be able to know exactly who it is-"
Leia cut him off with a sharp nudge to the side and shot him a glare. John's brows furrowed for a moment before they shot up and he turned back to Peter as though nothing had transpired.
"A friend of mine has suggested that because of the nature of the vehicle, it could possibly be some government agent."
"Which friend?" Leia asked.
"Jack."
"Since when are you talking to Jack again? Is something weird going on?"
John sighed and rolled his eyes, "Nothing weird is going on." He turned back to Peter, "My friend used to hold a rather substantial position within the government before an untimely injury ended his career. Leia believes that the only time I speak to him is when one of us has inside information for the other. But I assure you, he is beyond harmless. And to that, I have no suspicions that I haven't already investigated to the utmost of my ability - whoever this fellow is, he's good."
