Who: Zeus, Phobos and Medusa
What: Don't ever fall in love with god's whose names start with P.
Where: Hawaii
When: Friday
Medusa had wandered away from the beach. Thoughts of shark hunting were pushed from her mind as she caught a glimpse of a bird from the corner of her eye. The avian had long tail feathers, like a male peacock and made no sound as it flitted from branch to branch. Colorful too or so the Gorgon imagined. Black, white and grey were the only shades of color she saw now. Even so the woman-turned-monster-turned-woman had a long memory.
Red. Red was a wonderful color and in her mind’s eye Medusa had painted the bird twenty different shades of scarlet and crimson.
The impromptu game of chase ended when she looked at the bird. Too heavy for the branch to hold the statue tumbled to the ground and broke into twelve neat pieces. Kneeling, Medusa touched each one trying to decide which one she would keep.
