"To be without someone to talk to is a most horrible experience," Nephthys agreed, bringing a tray over to the young boy and setting it down, the teapot steaming and everything else set out around it and waiting. She had spent many years of her life completely alone and without the support of anyone, mostly because she was far too afraid of the human around her. For decades after her time as Mark's slave she had closed herself all from everything and had been more lonely than ever before.
But now she had the gods of Egypt around her once again - and while it was not all of them, it was the ones she was closest too - and she didn't fear the mortals who crossed her path. Still she wasn't very good at being a part of their lives though. "I myself haven't managed to make many friends since coming to New York, although I have been here now in this building for many long months."
