Karl nodded, taking one hand off of the aimed gun and into the back of the man's waistband, pulling out said concealed gun. He handed it off to his partner before he nudged the thug forward, his finger lightly tapping the trigger on a gun that was obviously not on safety.
But once the thug joined the line up against the wall along with the rest of the occupants in the room, Karl backed away and flipped the safety switch on and re-holstered his gun, his other hand already reaching for the pair of handcuffs that was linked to his belt and fixing them on the thug.
Easy. No violent outbursts. No killings at the hand of a New God.
At least, not until the thug himself reached for the hidden gun that Karl knew he had strapped to his ankle. In fact, he counted on it, so that he could bury the bastard once and for all.
Finishing up, Karl looked up at Alyssa and made sure she was really unscathed as she told him she was. He jerked the handcuffs one last time before stepping away and moving himself between the thug and her, his hands settling on her shoulders, trying to get her attention before the thug reached for the gun and no doubt saw Karl's back as an opportunity to use it.
Green eyes flickered towards the vanishing crowd being hauled off towards the hallway by the rest of the SWAT team before they re-focused on Alyssa. Karl managed to crack a smile, even if it was entirely fake, just to keep her attention on him.
"You did good. We did good."
The soft click of the hammer made itself known to Karl as he braced for the inevitable impact that would seal the mortal man's fate.
